Introducing the Haldex.Flash MSS tuning tool and software.

As part of our progression into VAG Drivetrain control upgrades we have acquired the worlds first MSS AWD flash tool for the GEN 2 Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracan.

MSS (Modular Sports System) is the all wheel drive system fitted to all Gen 2 Audi R8’s and Lamborghini Huracan’s. (And Porsche 991 911’s *coming soon)

The MSS is a Hydraulic prop shaft coupling built on the Borg Warner/Haldex Gen5 platform. The unit controls and distributes torque to the front differential by taking inputs from sensors around the vehicle. It then calculates how much torque is required and sends it by applying hydraulic pressure via a motor, over to the wet clutch pack in between the prop shaft and front differential.

The upgraded software will allow more torque to be transferred with a reworked control strategy. This will allow for a faster response, better grip and faster launches. A lot of untapped performance was left in these systems from factory allowing us to make full use of the hardware provided.

The stock software will only ever allow 550nm to the front wheels, so for tuned and turbo cars this means a lot of power is being left to the rear and not evenly split!

We have also developed a switchable rear wheel drive mode allowing the vehicle to become fully rear wheel drive on the fly using the factory drive mode selector!

Full performance tune is still under development BUT the switchable RWD mode is complete.

Users are able to choose one of the factory drive modes to activate rear wheel drive mode just before programming, this then allows full on the fly switching while driving.

More details for the full tune will be available shortly.
