Although the E46 M3 and E39 M5 come with an oil cooler from the factory, it is clearly not designed for hard driving. Just a few minutes on the track will quickly show how inadequate the OEM cooler is. Dangerously high oil temperatures can cause serious damage to your engine.
The new CSF oil cooler is over 2 times larger than the factory unit with a capacity of 243 cubic meters (vs. 103 cubic meters for the factory unit). This allows for cool and consistent temperatures on the hottest days when you're driving at the limit. The CSF x Rogue oil cooler uses a Bar & Plate construction (vs. tube & fin). The updated construction makes the cooler much more durable.
