Radium Engineering Catch Can Kit PCV - Nissan R32 GT-R Fluid Lock
Radium Engineering oil separators feature large 10AN ORB connections, a 4AN ORB drain connection, two-stage oil separation baffling, and an O-ring sealed dipstick. The kits attach to factory mounting holes and integrate perfectly with surrounding components.
The system does not vent to atmosphere (VTA), making it emissions-compliant and also permitted for track use. The closed-loop system removes oil and sludge from PCV gases before they are returned to the engine for combustion.
The closed system also helps maintain negative crankcase pressure, which improves engine performance. Additionally, it prevents unwanted oil vapors from entering the passenger compartment.
Integrated dipsticks in the catch cans allow for easy checking of accumulated fluid. Installation requires no cutting, drilling, or permanent modifications.
CATCH CAN KIT, PCV, NISSAN R35 GT-R
This PCV catch can kit is installed between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. It is attached to the left-hand (LH) side of the engine bay.
When intake manifold pressure is near or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV check valve closes, resulting in no flow in the hose.
However, at idle, steady-state driving, and engine braking, a regulated vacuum is present in the PCV hoses. Normally, this would draw unwanted crankcase vapors, unburnt fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold, especially after heavy load.
This catch can collects oil and other blow-by fluids, preventing them from entering the intake manifold. The canister should be emptied regularly.
NOTES
-
The PCV kit is not directly compatible with 2008-2011 GT-R models that do not have the OEM strut bar.
-
The PCV kit is compatible and recommended for use in conjunction with the Dual CCV catch can kit. See 20-0566.
-
A separate inline check valve is not required as Radium's catch cans are pressurized and sealed. This allows for a direct connection to the intake manifold.
-
For Right-Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles, minor modifications may be required for catch can mounting.
