Spool Performance Billet Manifold Gen 1 B58 Top Mount Turbo Kit

Spool Performance is proud to present a unique top mount turbo kit featuring a 5-axis machined billet exhaust manifold. This manufacturing method has allowed us to create a unique exhaust manifold with very short ducts that retain maximum thermal energy to the turbine and avoid the common problems of cast exhaust manifolds such as cracking and excess weight. The 5-axis machining has also allowed us to create a very efficient flow by balancing the wastegate duct design. This ensures excellent boost pressure control with a single 45mm wastegate. The result is a fast-waking, lightweight exhaust manifold with virtually zero exhaust pressure and is easy to install. The modular design of the exhaust manifold allows for a variety of turbo options, and the kit is available with both the Spool IFX water-cooled ceramic ball bearing turbo and the Precision air-cooled turbo.


Exhaust manifold

After countless hours of design, we created a highly efficient twin scroll flow with 5-axis machined wastegate channels, which allows for precise boost pressure control. The exhaust manifold is milled from high-strength alloy billet blocks that expand only slightly when heated. Machining the flow channels directly into the block allows for short but smooth channels to the turbine housing, which retains maximum thermal energy and reduces flow turbulence losses. This ensures a faster spool and very low exhaust pressures at high rpm. The modular design allows for quick variations for different superchargers.


Wastegate

The wastegate channels are one of the most underrated but critical parts of the exhaust system. Using CFD optimization, we designed the wastegate channels so that the flow between the turbine channels and the wastegate channels is balanced. This minimizes turbulence when the wastegate is closed. We only use a single 45mm wastegate in the system, which reduces the number of parts.

The series is available with a variety of PTE air-cooled and Spool IFX water-cooled ceramic ball bearing turbos:

  • SPOOL IFX-1400 Ball Bearing Water Cooled – 1400 HP – Lifetime Warranty on Special Order. (Uses a different riser due to larger wastegate and frame placement.)


Accessories and delivery contents

The kit is designed as a true plug-and-play solution. It comes with AN fittings for oil supply and return, water supply and return (Spool IFX) or bypass hose (Precision and others), and an optional catch can solution. The kit also includes a corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel bent downpipe and dump tube. We offer a compressor housing in your choice of color (default red) and Cerakote thermal coating on hot parts.
