TTE450 5154 - Upgrade Turbo for VAG 2.0 TSI VW Transporter Bus T5 / T6
Welcome to our ultimate OEM+ Plug & Play upgrade turbo for the 2.0 TSI T5/T6 platform. Very fast response combined with big turbo power for massive power delivery across the entire powerband. This is a true Stage 3 hybrid turbo.
The TTE450 starts life as a brand new genuine OEM turbocharger unit, which we then dismantle, and engineer to upgrade and optimize to create our ultimate hybrid version. We believe the TTE450 represents the pinnacle of performance for the T5/T6 platform while retaining the original OE housing for a full Plug & Play installation.
Engineered & Enhanced
Building the TTE450 starts with a significantly larger TTE billet compressor wheel. Chosen for its high efficiency – it's a new generation design with very thin blades, allowing for a very high airflow for its size and offering an exceptionally wide compressor map.
The re-profiled compressor cover is machined with optimized tolerances for maximum efficiency.
A key part of utilizing the large billet compressor – and at the same time enabling this turbo's massive power advantage over stock – is the machining and installation of a significantly larger TTE 9-blade High-Flow turbine and shaft into the original housing. This is not an easy feat.
This turbine:
- significantly reduces backpressure
- keeps exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) lower
The turbo also features TTE's own developed high-performance motorsport journal bearing system. It can withstand high loads without compromising response.
The wastegate actuator used is a reinforced OE unit, fitted with TTE's reinforced brackets for trouble-free operation.
Balancing
Precise balancing of turbochargers is a key factor in manufacturing a TTE upgrade turbo, as long service life and performance are paramount. Good balance also improves acoustics.
All TTE turbos are meticulously balanced as follows:
- Individual components are balanced at low speeds up to 2800 RPM in multiple planes.
- Components are then assembled.
- The CHRA core assembly is dynamically balanced at speeds up to 250,000 RPM using TTE's in-house VSR machine.
The result far exceeds OEM standards. Each turbo is supplied with a serial numbered balancing report.
