Using the included smartphone app, the analyzer connected to a GM ethanol sensor displays the ethanol content percentage and fuel temperature in degrees Fahrenheit.

The analyzer module uses Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy technology, which consumes very little smartphone battery and does not interfere with the phone's regular Bluetooth functions or connections.

Why do you need an ethanol content monitoring system?

According to ASTM standards, the ethanol content of fuel sold as E85 can vary between 51% and 85%. This means that fuel pumped at a gas station labeled as E85 may in reality be, for example, E55 fuel, which contains only 55% ethanol.

This uncertainty is a significant concern for enthusiasts whose cars use performance-optimized E85 engine calibrations.

If the engine is tuned for higher ethanol content fuel but is actually running on fuel with lower ethanol content, it can result in engine damage. By knowing the actual ethanol content of the E85 fuel you have pumped, you can avoid damage caused by incorrect fuel mixtures.

Ethanol sensor application

Spool's Ethanol Analyzer apps are completely free and feature an ethanol mixture calculator that allows you to calculate your desired fuel mixture accurately.

When using the Ethanol Analyzer kit, the app automatically retrieves the required fuel ethanol content for calculations based on the measurement data of the fuel in the tank.

The app can be downloaded and used even without the analyzer kit, allowing you to estimate fuel mixtures and calculate required mixing ratios yourself.

Effortless installation

The Ethanol Analyzer kit includes the manufacturer's own anodized aluminum fuel line adapters, which allow the sensor to be seamlessly connected to the car's original fuel lines.

Lifetime warranty

Like all Spool products, the Ethanol Content Analyzer is covered by Spool's lifetime warranty.
