Dorch Engineering – CAN Flex Fuel Kit (Gen1 B58)
Now that Gen1 B58 engine tuning software supports true CAN-bus based Flex Fuel adjustment, we are offering our own plug & play ECA solution!
Thanks to the new MHD and BM3 software updates, separate Bluetooth ethanol sensors are no longer truly needed. CAN-based ethanol measurement not only monitors the ethanol content of the fuel but also communicates directly with the Engine Control Unit (DME), enabling full Flex Fuel functionality.
With Flex Fuel programming, the DME automatically adjusts engine maps in real-time according to ethanol content – from a powerful E85 map to regular gasoline (98E5) and everything in between. This all happens on-the-fly via the CAN bus, without manual map changes or refueling calculations.
Completely Plug & Play – no wire cutting or splicing!
The kit is fully reversible and OEM-compatible. The wiring is neatly integrated into the original harness, and all original engine protective foam and covers can be reinstalled.
The ethanol sensor is positioned as close as possible to the fuel injectors, ensuring virtually zero lag in ethanol content measurement – meaning the engine reacts immediately to the actual mixture.
Although a very detailed and DIY-friendly instruction manual is included, the installation of the kit is quick:
Just add about 30 minutes when installing with an HPFP, or about an hour by itself, depending on the installer's experience.
