Overview

Radium Engineering catch cans feature large 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, 2-step oil separation baffling, and an O-ring sealed dipstick. Each kit includes everything required for a complete installation.

The catch cans remove oil and water condensation from crankcase gases before they are routed into the intake system. The closed-loop design prevents unwanted oil vapors from entering the cabin while helping maintain engine performance.

Description

This dual catch can kit includes two catch cans—one for the PCV system and one for the CCV (crankcase ventilation) system—for complete crankcase protection.

The anodized aluminum mounting bracket installs near the front left-hand side of the engine. A polished billet aluminum ground plate attaches to three factory grounding points. Because the plate is aluminum, it maintains the factory electrical grounding while supporting the dual catch can bracket. Aluminum spacers provide the necessary clearance for the supercharger pulley.

The CCV catch can mounts at the front of the bracket and installs inline with the dry sump crankcase vent line leading to the intake. During wide-open throttle (WOT), it captures oil and sludge that would otherwise accumulate in the air intake pipe.

The PCV catch can mounts at the rear of the bracket. Since the factory PCV valve is integrated into the crankcase valley beneath the supercharger, it cannot be reused. This kit replaces it with a billet aluminum PCV valve bypass.

A PCV hose routes from the bypass to the catch can, while the outlet uses a Radium Engineering PCV valve to return clean, filtered air to the intake manifold.

During idle, steady-state cruising, and deceleration, metered vacuum draws crankcase gases through the catch can, preventing oil vapor, unburned fuel, and sludge from entering the engine after high-load operation.
