Nissan GT-R VR38DETT Forged Engine by QT

While today's turbo engines almost invariably produce brutal torque, tuning the components can quickly become time-consuming.

In the case of VR38DETT, really fast.

The specimen in question has already been built once elsewhere, about 60,000 km ago. There was no actual problem with the engine that would affect its use, but the package was opened as a precaution - and not in vain.

We came across several things that were implemented in a slightly "funny" way, more details on our YouTube channel.

We ended up replacing practically everything on the engine, along with some thoughtful machining.

-CP Forged pistons for 95.5 bore
-Carrillo Connecting Rods + Carrillo Connecting Rod Bolts
-OEM Oil Pump
-OEM Chain Tensioners
-OEM Head Gaskets
-OEM Gasket Set (Every engine gasket and seals)
-OEM Cover Bolts
-OEM Camber bolts
-OEM Cam bolts
-OEM Valve Stem Seals
-KING Connecting rod bearings
-KING Crankshaft bearings

Machining:

-Deck channels cleaned
-Block + covers planned
-Light honing of the block
-Crankshaft + cranks + pistons balancing*
-Crankshaft housing inspection
-Crankshaft inspection
-Valve adjustment (hard lifters)

Other things done to the car,

-Linney inlet pipes
-Supercharger maintenance
-Stainless steel intake pipes
-Front axle maintenance (incl. bearings and seals)
-Bellhousing bearings
-Injector inspection
-Breathing with three tanks (boathouses + lower deck)
-Wiring harness cleaning
