The development of the new EGO-X exhaust system for the Audi S5 B10 TFSI Mild-Hybrid quattro has reached a significant milestone: the system has successfully passed the noise measurement required for ECE approval, and the product is now available for pre-order.

Like all EGO-X exhaust systems from HG-Motorsport, this system is also fully designed, tested, and manufactured at the company's factory in Lübeck, Germany.

2 × 63 mm → 89 mm – flow-optimized exhaust system

EGO-X is designed specifically for the new generation Audi S5 B10 model's 3.0-liter TFSI Mild-Hybrid engine, which produces 270 kW / 367 hp. The exhaust system uses a completely redesigned routing, which is optimized for efficient exhaust gas flow.

In the initial section of the system, exhaust gases travel through two 63 mm pipes. After this, the flows merge into a large-diameter 89 mm (3.5-inch) main pipe.

A significant difference from the original exhaust system is that in the EGO-X system, the original pre-silencer is completely omitted. This achieves efficient exhaust flow and minimal backpressure.

At the rear, the exhaust gases flow through 76 mm piping to the exhaust valves, after which the flow splits into four 63 mm tailpipes.

The EGO-X exhaust system has been developed specifically for the Audi S5 B10 TFSI Mild-Hybrid quattro, which features a 2,995 cm³ engine and 270 kW / 367 hp of power.

Rather than adapting a finished exhaust, the structure and routing of the system have been designed to meet the technical requirements of the new S5 B10 generation and the characteristics of the DWVA engine.

Two 63 mm exhaust streams are combined into a large-diameter 89 mm main pipe. The original pre-silencer is omitted, and at the rear, the exhaust flows through 76 mm piping to the exhaust valves. Finally, the flow splits into four 63 mm tailpipes.

The noise measurement required for ECE approval has been passed. According to the product description, the system is supplied with the corresponding ECE approval certificate.

The use of the exhaust system in road traffic in accordance with the approval and any potential need to update vehicle registration documents are determined by the final approval documentation and the correspondence between the vehicle and the approved application.

The EGO-X exhaust system developed for the Audi S5 B10 optimizes exhaust flow immediately after the OPF particulate filter. The original pre-silencer is completely omitted, and the two 63 mm exhaust streams merge into a large 89 mm main pipe.
