PERFORMANCE

Increase exhaust gas velocity and improve performance with a BMW 1-series turbo blanket. Funk Motorsport BMW turbo blankets insulate the hot side of the turbo, keeping heat within the exhaust gases. Hotter gases move faster and exit the system more efficiently, improving turbo spool-up and throttle response. Insulating the hot side also helps to reduce heat transfer from the turbo into the engine bay and intake system. Cooler intake air produces more power and more consistent power readings over time.

PROTECTION

The turbocharger is a real source of heat in the engine bay. The excess heat it produces can damage sensitive surrounding components. Protect, for example, oil lines, coolant pipes, and even nearby body structures from excessive heat.

RELIABILITY

Insulate your BMW 3-series turbo with a turbo blanket to reduce excess heat in the engine bay. Lowering engine bay temperatures improves electronics reliability and helps to better control coolant, fuel, and oil line temperatures. From a reliability perspective, the benefits of a turbo blanket are almost limitless.

  • Specially developed wire construction for exceptional durability, even when removed for turbo maintenance. New fireproof, ultra-high temperature resistant stainless steel wire (approx. 1 mm diameter) maintaining strength at temperatures over 1300°C.

  • New, thicker internal thermal insulation, offering up to 3x better thermal insulation. This insulation wool is made from a ceramic silica complex, improving durability in long-term hot use and increasing insulation performance.

  • 4-layer construction for improved reliability.

WARNING

This turbo blanket is not inherently flammable. However, if flammable liquids come into contact with it, it can become a potential ignition source. Always ensure that all oil and fuel lines and connections around the turbocharger and fuel system are properly maintained. Funk Motorsport is not responsible for product contamination due to liquids.
