Dual Catch Can Kit Radium Engineering for Chevrolet Corvette LT1 with Dry Sump 2017-2019

Part Number

20-1286-FL Dual Catch Can Kit, 17-19 Corvette LT1 with Dry Sump, Fluid Lock

Compatibility

  • 2017–2019 Chevrolet Corvette C7 LT1 (Dry Sump)

Overview

The catch can removes oil and water condensation from crankcase gases before they enter the intake manifold. This helps prevent oil buildup in the intake, intercooler system walls, throttle body, and intake manifold.

Cleaner intake air can effectively raise octane, improve engine performance, and reduce hydrocarbon emissions. The closed-loop system also prevents unwanted oil vapors from entering the cabin.

The kit includes everything required for a complete installation.

Fluid Lock Catch Cans

In 2022, Radium Engineering introduced the Fluid Lock® Catch Can design for its standard 7-fluid-ounce catch cans.

Traditional catch cans can overflow if they are not serviced regularly, allowing collected contaminants to be drawn back into the intake system and reducing engine performance.

The patented Fluid Lock® system prevents the reservoir from overfilling and securely traps collected fluids until the catch can is emptied.

Collection & Emptying

The amount of oil and moisture collected varies depending on the vehicle and driving conditions, so there is no fixed service interval.

PCV catch cans generally collect more contaminants than CCV catch cans.

Check the fluid level using the integrated dipstick after approximately 3–4 weeks of driving, then establish a maintenance schedule based on your vehicle's collection rate.

Catch cans can be emptied by:

  • Unscrewing and removing the lower reservoir
  • Using an optional Petcock Drain Kit when there is sufficient clearance beneath the catch can

Excessive oil collection may indicate an engine issue, including:

  • Excessive blow-by from engine damage
  • Crankcase windage caused by an overfilled oil level
  • Poor breather port placement or insufficient internal baffling
  • A PCV valve that is leaking or failing to close under heavy load

20-1286-FL Dual Catch Can Kit

This dual catch can kit includes both PCV and CCV catch cans for maximum engine protection.
