Terms for product returns:

• You must return the ordered products within 14 days of receiving
• The products must be unused and without damages
• Commission fee for handling returns is 21,90€
• For product returns, the customer is in charge of the return costs. Only door to door service (Express)
• Shipping costs are not refunded

For international orders sales are final and non-refundable. Once an order is placed, it cannot be canceled or returned. By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

If the product you have ordered is a pre order or made-to-order item, it is not subject to the 14-day right of withdrawal or return under consumer protection laws, as the product is manufactured or sourced specifically based on the customer’s individual order.

If you wish to cancel your order before receiving the product, we will refund 50% of the total order amount.

The Spool Performance FX-170 is a high-performance high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) upgrade for BMW B58 Gen1 engines. This solution is designed to remove the limitations of the standard system, enabling significantly higher fuel capacity in tuned configurations.

What is the FX-170?

The FX-170 is an upgraded HPFP with a larger piston diameter than the standard pump. This allows for approximately +50% greater fuel flow.

• Full E85 compatibility
• Plug & Play installation: no cutting or wiring modification
• +25% higher operating pressure → better injector performance

The additional capacity enables:

• Higher ethanol blends
• Larger turbochargers
• Higher power levels

Why is an upgrade necessary?

The B58 engine's standard HPFP quickly becomes a limitation in tuning. The fuel supply is insufficient for higher power outputs or high ethanol concentrations.

The FX-170:

• Significantly increases the system's flow capacity
• Improves injector flow with higher pressure
• Enables more aggressive and safer tuning

Ethanol analysis

The ethanol content of E85 fuel can vary (approx. E51–E85).

• Too low ethanol content relative to the tune can cause engine damage
• Ethanol measurement enables precise mixture ratio optimization

• Excellent filtration performance without significant pressure loss
• Protects the HPFP and injectors from contaminants
• Recommended addition for high-performance setups

Software requirements

The pump always requires software modifications for operation:

• Calibration must be performed before commissioning
• Operation without adjustment can cause damage and void the warranty

Spool:

• Provides necessary data to the tuner
• Assists in connecting with experienced tuners

Note: Spool does not provide ready-made custom tunes

Important note: LPFP

The low-pressure fuel pump (LPFP) system is critical for HPFP operation:

• An inadequate LPFP can damage the pump and injectors
• HPFP lubrication relies on fuel flow
• Lack of fuel → wear and failure

Recommendation: ensure an adequate LPFP upgrade as part of the overall setup
