A "must-have" upgrade for spirited driving, not to mention track use. Improving your car's handling characteristics doesn't get any easier than this.
As part of the development of VAG Group drivetrain control systems, the world's first VAQ programming tool for front-wheel-drive MQB platform vehicles has been developed.
VAQ, or Vorderachsquersperre, is a torque-sensing limited-slip differential system that improves cornering and power distribution in Volkswagen Group vehicles. The system is also known by the names eDiff and ELSD.
VAQ utilizes a Haldex-type multi-plate clutch that limits the difference in rotational speed between the left and right front wheels. When the system detects a speed difference between the wheels, it engages the multi-plate clutch and transfers power from one wheel to the other. The operating principle resembles the technology used in all-wheel-drive Haldex systems.
The world's first tuning solution has been developed for these control units, enabling full control of the system and the utilization of its full potential.
The software is a versatile programming and tuning tool that allows for real-time adjustment while driving. The user can build a tuning map according to their needs, monitor the system's operation in real time, and make changes via a wireless mobile app. This way, the operation of the VAQ system can be easily adjusted exactly as desired, whether on the road or the track.
